Ball-point pens are actually one of my favorite drawing tools. With the right kind, you can vary your line widths and even get some tonal variation out of them.

The best pens I've used (and still use) are the Pilot Hi-Tec C's. They make them in various sizes so you can get super small lines for highly detailed work, or a nice thick outline. They don't bleed into the paper at all, they're very precise. They also won't smear or dribble.
The only problem with Hi-Tec C's is that they're hard to get here in the US. If you live in a large city, you can find them at Japanese stationery stores. Otherwise, you can order them here.

Pigma Microns are good too, but they bleed a little and don't have the same line consistency as a Hi-Tec C. Easy to find though.

My fav sharpener is called It's academic and it's red with a large and small sharpener and a small case to catch the shavings. I bought it at Wal Greens just on a whim and it's worked out so great for us...we have an expensive one that doesn't work that well at all!

Think of how much energy has to be made to power your electric mower.

Two years ago i bought the cheapest non powered gas mower for 165 bucks at sears. It works great.

I have wondered about the emissions, but i havent seen that info anywhere

i bought this kind at walgreens that you just twist the end and it puts out more of the stick for you, but after awhile i started bying the much cheaper sharpen yourself kind. what i do is just no sharpen it all the way and then use two fingers to kinda push the ends together more to a point then put it back in the sharpener ever so slightly to finish the tip. hope this helps
