How much should I expect to pay for a concrete slab?

I need a 10' x 16' slab poured for a shed I want to build in the backyard. I got an estimate of $1,450 for a 5" slab with thickened edges put on a gravel base.
There is a little bit of grading involved (moving about 3 to 4 inches of topsoil around).
I wonder if that price quote is reasonable. I also wonder if a 5" slab is a good choice for a shed that will house a riding lawn mower, garden tools, and kayaks. Thanks to anyone who can help.

That’s sounds reasonable for that SMALL of a area – the more you have done the cheaper it becomes. Be sure that slab has wire or re-bar set on top of the gravel – that prevents cracking. If you are in earthquake area – you should have cuts (1/2 inch deep) every 5/10 feet apart. It wouldn’t hurt to add a few more feet on the front side or wherever. You are paying for a full load in the concrete truck – so your 16×10 equals 160 sq. and I think most trucks do 200 per load. Check that out.
good price might b 100 or 200 high but ive not seen the site go for it
that is a tad high but not too bad…5 in. is more than you really need for a shed but that is up to you…i would just do a 4.in floating slab with a good crushed stone base and forget about the monolithic edge…would cost you about 1100.00 where i live…
