I make my students do an "Annotated Bibliography" which is an evaluation of their sources. That's one way to decide which is best to use, and helps you keep your sources straight.
One way to keep focused on material that you actually need is to have a rough Outline – and of course your thesis statement.
If something does NOT support your Thesis then do not use it.
Something else to keep in mind is to use sources that are not biased and not too old, and that are credible (reputable sources). Whenever possible, go to the Primary source (where it was originally published) for instance, the _New England Journal of Medicine_.
Don't use wikipedia for your source, but you can look at the site to determine what sources they used. Then go to those sources for your material.

One rule that was always made clear: When bidding a job, have a sharp pencil, but at the same time, do not try to cut corners.
From the customer's perspective, which is your position, the best rule of thumb is to get at least three bids, and choose a middle one. If the contractor can not give references and present professional credentials, I would be very hesitant.
Also never pay ALL of the money up front.
Finally, if things are not right do not pay the whole. I once had a heating system put in. With one more thing to do, the employee leading the job sat down thinking he would be paid, and promised to finish the next day.
I smiled and said tomorrow will be fine. I will pay you then. He called the boss who told him to leave and get things wrapped up the next day. I then taked to the boss, a company owner with a great reputation. He had no problem waiting. That is how a reputable business person does these things. So…
Too cheap, or if the person seems desperate, be very careful. Before hiring the company just mentioned, I had a bloke spend three hours trying to get me to hire him, and for an unknown brand. I only kept giving him tea and coffee because I had nothing better to do, and he hadn't the sense to understand that I was NOT going to hire him.
So, be careful, get credentials and references, and use a known contractor. You ought to be fine. If in doubt, have a small portion done and see how it goes. Smaller portions of work can help keep quality high!
P.S. My dad was a remodeler for several years..painting, woodwork, floors, nearly everything!

Round up or a cheaper brand with the same active ingredient is the best. It kills the stuff and the soil is not infertile. I've seen many people respond with different methods but they all make the soil infertile and then nothing will ever grow there. Just spend the few extra bucks and do it right.

I am not really objecting to someone putting *their* twitter feed into FF. That’s easy enough to deal with (and some Twitter feeds are definitely worth paying attention to). It is when they have a bunch of Twitter (or other) *search* feeds that I find annoying. And I can’t hide all such feeds at once, because FF thinks they are just another blog or other RSS feed, and I’d end up hiding all blogs.

Bear in mind that there were no computers/TVs etc back in the days so the proportion of short sighted people are a lot lower than it is today. I'm guessing most of the short sighted people are scholars who study a lot so they are not required to hunt and fight like soldiers/generals etc.
